SISMÓGRAFO

Dois anos depois de apresentar SEQUÊNCIAS 11-12 nas salas do Sismógrafo, Sérgio Taborda volta para uma nova apresentação dos seus mais recentes trabalhos em vídeo.

Incorporando “o tempo e a duração irreversíveis de um acontecimento”, são trabalhos agrupados em sequências. Realizadas no contexto da residência artística no Arquivo do Arsenal, em Berlim, as SEQUÊNCIAS 13-14 são baseados em acontecimentos registados nas cidades em que esteve entre 2015 e 2016 (com um recuo temporal a 1997, na SEQUÊNCIA 14).

Trata-se de um “encadeamento contínuo de acontecimentos com durações muito precisas, aqui assinalados pelos nomes da rua, número de porta, cidade (ou aldeia) e anos em que os capturei”.

Sérgio Taborda nasceu em 1958, Vila Nova de Poiares (Coimbra). Vive e trabalha em Berlim e Lisboa. Atualmente é artista/investigador residente no Arsenal-Institut for film and Video-Art em Berlim onde vive e trabalha no âmbito de uma bolsa individual de investigação pós-doutoramento da Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia.

Two years after presenting SEQUENCES 11-12 in the rooms of the Sismógrafo, Sérgio Taborda returns to a new presentation of his most recent video works.

Incorporating "the irreversible time and duration of an event", these are works grouped into sequences. Performed in the context of the artistic residency at the Arsenal Archive in Berlin, SEQUENCES 13-14 are based on events recorded in the cities where he was between 2015 and 2016 (with a temporary step back to 1997, in SEQUENCE 14).

It is a "continuous chain of events with very precise durations, marked here by street names, door number, city (or village) and years in which I captured them."

Sérgio Taborda was born in 1958, Vila Nova de Poiares (Coimbra). He lives and works in Berlin and Lisbon and is currently artist/resident researcher at the Arsenal-Institut for film and Video Art in Berlin, where he lives and works within an individual post-doctoral research scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology.
